Letter of Intent

Dear Viewer,

Thank you for your interest in my blog! I hope you find what you are looking for as you are guided through my interests, experiences and plans for the future.

I am a well-rounded, motivated individual who can work well independently or cooperatively as part of a team. I truly enjoy meeting new people and and am very outgoing and willing to talk about whatever may come my way. I am constantly striving to learn more about the world and those in it. I have a passion for knowledge and constantly give 100% towards whatever goal may be set before me.

With this blog, I intend to showcase all areas of  my background in radio, television, public speaking and writing. Here, you will see examples of scripts I have written, TV shows I have been a part of and presentations I have given. I know I will be a great addition to any company, and by reaching out to possible employers in these many fields, I can best express all of my attributes and how they can meet your requirements. Perhaps, we can soon discuss them in person!

Thank you and Enjoy,
Jaime

Biography

I am a 21-year-old Communication Studies major and Marketing minor at The College of New Jersey. At The College, I am a member of Lambda Pi Eta, the Communications Honor Society and the Golden Key International Honour Society.

The courses I have completed at TCNJ have given me a strong background in interpersonal communication, television and radio production and public relations. I have developed better writing, public speaking and technological skills.

I have been deeply involved in the Communications Department since my acceptance to The College of New Jersey. I was trained and licensed as a radio DJ and co-hosted three dayside shows over the course of two years at WTSR, the school's radio station. I am currently a writer and actor for the campus television station, Lions Television, and also recently finished production on a documentary made along with three other students. Through these experiences I have learned valuable lessons in teamwork, organization and leadership.

Outside of school, I enjoy running, hiking, reading, traveling along the East Coast and New York football (i.e. the Giants). I also really enjoy working with people. I have always been involved in the customer service industry. I worked as a waitress at Krogh's Restaurant and Brew Pub in Sparta, NJ for three years and as a neighborhood nanny for one.

Over the summer of 2008 I worked as Account Manager for a market analyst firm, BIScorecard. I was responsible for handling client accounts and getting in touch with different companies and employers in an attempt to gain a larger clientele base. I also assisted in designing and promoting a new marketing campaign with updated public relations materials.

After graduation, I plan working behind-the-scenes in the entertainment industry (maybe at a television or radio station) and attending graduate school and pursuing a doctorate in Communication Studies and Education. In the end, I wish to be a professor of Communication Studies at a college or university. Hopefully, this online portfolio will help make that happen!
